Arrival in Beijing & Lao She Teahouse
Afternoon: Arrive at Beijing Airport, where local staff will meet you and provide a private transfer to your hotel. Your guide will contact you one day before arrival.
Evening: Gather at 19:00 and travel to Lao She Teahouse for the included performance, scheduled to begin at approximately 19:50. Enjoy an introduction to traditional Beijing culture through Peking Opera, cross-talk comedy, acrobatics and shadow puppetry. Return to your hotel after the show.
Mutianyu Great Wall & Summer Palace
Morning: drive approximately 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Enjoy the included admission, shuttle bus and round-trip cable car, then walk along the wall for panoramic mountain views during an approximately two-hour visit.
Afternoon: Have lunch at your own expense before continuing to the Summer Palace, China’s largest imperial garden and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, the Seventeen-Arch Bridge and the Tower of Buddhist Incense while discovering the design of a classical Chinese imperial garden.
Beijing to Chengdu by High-Speed Train
Check out and transfer to Beijing West Railway Station. Board a second-class high-speed train to Chengdu East Station. The reference schedule is 08:26–17:38, with a journey time of approximately 9 hours and 12 minutes, subject to final ticket availability.
Upon arrival, transfer to your Chengdu hotel and check in. The rest of the evening is free. For independent exploration, Kuanzhai Alleys and Jinli Ancient Street are recommended for a taste of Chengdu’s relaxed local atmosphere.
Giant Pandas, Dujiangyan & Sichuan Opera
Morning: visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Observe giant pandas feeding and resting, and explore areas including the Panda Villa and Sun Maternity House.
Afternoon: Have lunch at your own expense, then drive approximately one hour to Dujiangyan. Explore this UNESCO-listed irrigation system, including Fish Mouth, Feisha Weir and Baopingkou.
Evening: Gather at 19:00 for the included Sichuan Opera performance, featuring face-changing, fire-spitting and the rolling-lantern act. Transfer back to your hotel after the show.
Leshan Giant Buddha & Huanglongxi Ancient Town
Morning: drive approximately two hours to the Leshan Giant Buddha. Walk along the plank paths to view the 71-metre-high Tang-dynasty stone Buddha, located at the meeting point of three rivers. The visit takes approximately three hours, and the mountain-access ticket is included.
Afternoon: Have lunch at your own expense before continuing to Huanglongxi Ancient Town. Wander along its old stone streets, admire preserved Ming- and Qing-style buildings, and sample local specialities at your own expense.
Chengdu to Zhangjiajie & Tianmen Mountain
Check out and transfer to Chengdu East Railway Station. Take a second-class high-speed train to Zhangjiajie West Station. The reference schedule is 08:00–11:58, with a journey time of approximately four hours, subject to final ticket availability.
After arriving, transfer to your hotel for a short rest, then visit Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Take the included cable car to the mountaintop and explore the Glass Plank Road, Tianmen Cave and the winding 99-bend mountain road while enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Spend the day exploring Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Huangshizhai using the included round-trip cable car, then walk along Golden Whip Stream beneath the park’s sandstone peaks.
Continue to Yuanjiajie using the included round-trip Bailong Elevator. From its mountain viewpoints, admire the pillar known as Hallelujah Mountain, associated with the floating-mountain scenery in Avatar. Park admission and the required eco-bus transportation are also included.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge
Morning: visit Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Follow the plank paths through the valley, passing waterfalls, natural pools and narrow gorges. Cross the included Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, a 430-metre transparent bridge suspended approximately 300 metres above the canyon.
Admission and five activities of your choice from the seven-item experience package are included. The high-altitude zip line is available only to guests weighing 30–90 kg.
Afternoon: Return to Zhangjiajie city and enjoy free time at your leisure.
Zhangjiajie to Shanghai by High-Speed Train
Check out and transfer to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. Board a second-class high-speed train to Shanghai Hongqiao Station. The reference schedule is 07:28–16:25, with a journey time of approximately nine hours, subject to final ticket availability.
Upon arrival, transfer to your Shanghai hotel and check in. The evening is free. For independent exploration, consider visiting Nanjing Road and The Bund to enjoy Shanghai’s evening cityscape.
Yu Garden, City God Temple & Huangpu River Cruise
Morning: visit Yu Garden and explore its traditional pavilions, rockeries, ponds and classical Jiangnan garden layout. Continue through the City God Temple area, known for local culture and regional snacks.
Afternoon: Have lunch at your own expense, then stroll along Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, where historic shops stand alongside modern retail stores.
Evening: Walk to The Bund to view its collection of historic riverside buildings. Finish with the included Huangpu River night cruise, taking in The Bund, Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower from the water. Transfer back to your hotel after the cruise.
Zhujiajiao Water Town & Tianzifang
Morning: travel to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town for an approximately two-hour visit. Explore Kezhi Garden and Fangsheng Bridge, and wander among canals, stone bridges, narrow waterways and historic residences.
Afternoon: Have lunch at your own expense before returning to Shanghai to explore Tianzifang. Set within adapted traditional shikumen buildings, this creative district is home to boutique craft shops, art studios and cafés. Enjoy time to browse independently and experience a more artistic side of the city.
Departure from Shanghai
Enjoy free time at your leisure, with an opportunity to shop for souvenirs. Your private transfer will take you to the appropriate Shanghai airport approximately two hours before your scheduled flight departure. Upon arrival at the airport, complete the check-in and boarding procedures for your onward journey.
